Abstract:
Current literature tells web designers to determine who their primary users are, then design the website for that group. However, in many cases a website must serve multiple audiences with very different needs. This article explores a few options that web designers have in creating a website that meets the needs of multiple audiences.

Section 1, Select an audience: Factors used to determine audiences.
Section 2, Create separate sites: Advantages and disadvantages of creating separate sites.
Section 3, Target main audience: Advantages and disadvantages of creating a site for one audience, but including information for other audiences.
Section 4, Request login:Advantages and disadvantages of designing a site for each audience, then presenting the appropriate site after the user logs in to identify which audience s/he belongs to.
Section 5, Include subsites:Advantages and disadvantages of creating subsites which will let you create individual sites for each audience group that do not require that the user log in.
